WOW!!! I think I really see progress!

WOW!! 2 post in one night! HA HA! I am trying to stay regular with my posting. I had a chance to take before pictures of my weight loss journey. Today I had swimming lessons and normally wouldn't wear the swim suit that I wore. But I couldn't find any other one out of my 100 swimming suits! (Roll Eyes)
This morning, I had gotten on the scale and VICTORY! It had gone down. :-) So since I had on the original swimming suit of my before pictures, I decided to do an comparison. I actually saw a difference o_O. I had never done this before in my efforts to lose weight because I never felt confident taking these needed pictures. I think this time is different because I can really see myself doing this long term. :-)

So you say you want to see the pictures in question? Well here you go!

DIY Project done!!! Frame Jewerly Holder

Good Saturday Everyone!! I finally got a chance to finish my first DIY project in the new house. I made a Picture Frame Jewelry Holder. It was a pretty easy project and I think that anyone could do it. And guess what!? I have pictures and steps to show. :-D

Things that you will need:
Picture Frame
Flannel Material or Flat Cotton Stuffing (Optional)
Material/Fabric of your choice
Mesh netting (the netting is the netting on the screen doors or you windows. You can get this at Wal-Mart, Lowes, or Home Depot)
Staple Gun
Scissors
Spray Paint (Optional)
Pins (Optional, but this is used with the flannel material for your hoops or even bracelets)
Small Hooks (Optional)
Drill with drill bits (Optional if you are using small hooks)

The Girly Engineer's Picture Frame Jewelry Holder

Step 1:
I had an old frame from the wedding and I was tired of looking at it just lying around and I also had a lot of jewelry just lying around driving my husband crazy. After much stalking of Pinterest, I found many inspirations for my jewelry storage and I this option caught my eye. I wanted the frame to be purple because it is my favorite color in the world :-)
I took the backing out of the frame and spray painted the frame with indoor/outdoor paint. I let it dry for about an hour.

Step 2:
After the frame dried, I started drilling holes in the frame (which is metal) for my hooks. Try not to drill too deep. The hooks will not stay in. If you do, you can just fill the hole with glue or putty and touch up on the paint.
After drilling in your holes, screw in your hooks. This step is optional. I needed extra hooks, so this worked for me.

Step 3:
Now it is time to finish the backing of the frame that will eventually hold your jewelry. Take the flannel and cut it out where there is about 1-2 inch overlay of the fabric. I used flannel under my design fabric to make sure I had something to stick my pins in for my hoop earrings.

The Flannel material over the backing

Step 4:
You may have to cut your design fabric but I got mine precut at Wal-Mart. Lay the fabric over the flannel if you are using it. If not, skip Step 3 and just use this step.

The fabric over the flannel

Step 5:
Grab your staple gun and staple your fabric and flannel down to the back of the board from the frame.

The fabric stapled down

Step 6:
Cut your netting to measure about the same as the material. Staple it to the back. Make sure you pull the flannel, fabric, and netting tightly when stapling so it can be as flat as possible at the front of the frame. You can cut off any excess material at the back.

Step 7:
Put the backing back into the picture frame. You can add pins for odd earrings that will not hook into the netting.  The hooks can be used for necklaces, hoop earrings, bracelets or rings. So can the pins.

Step 8:
Hang up your frame and enjoy! I will be putting up mines soon and will be designing my DIY Beauty Vanity around it. I will have pictures and steps for that as well. Until next time, be blessed!

Shakeology!

Good Morning ALL!!

For the past 30 days I have been drinking this shake called Shakeology! A little background... I have tried at least 4-5 different kinds of protein shakes and they were all NASTY and tasted like medicine! LOL! I was looking for something that did what a protein shakes did but tasted good. Shoot if I was going to do something long term then it had to taste good. My now Upline Coach at Beach Body, let's just call her Dallas, was drinking the shakes and had great results. I scooped up a sample from her and honestly didn't drink it for several months. At the time I was planning a wedding and was all over the place! So one day I finally tasted the drink and it tasted pretty good.

Fast forward to 1.5 years later, my grandmother had past and I was really ready to make the change. I stayed in touch with my coach and drilled her with questions about the shake. I finally made the jump and ordered the shakes alone with Turbo Fire. I was hesitant for all of that time because the shakes were $119.95 for a month supply! But by the time I was ready to make the change in my health and weight; I was stopping at McDonald, Burger King and at the cafeteria at work spending $5-$6 just on breakfast! **GASPS** Crazy huh! And I would be hungry again at 9:00am (Roll Eyes). The shakes are only $4 dollars a day. So it made sense. It wasn't 1000 calories either. I decided to go with purchasing the shakes with the workout because I got a deep discount on the shakes with the purchase.

I drunk the shakes for about a week, trying out new recipes and I really liked the ability to customize the shakes. One day I made my shake and left it at home. I was like shoot; I will just eat at work. I ate and by the time 9:30am came I was ABSOLUTELY STAVING!!! UGGHH!!! Let's just say it was hard trying to stay within my calories this day! So I had an unexpected test of what the shakes had been doing for me. I was sluggish and hungry most of the day! The shake also gives you all of the vitamins that you need for the day. WIN, WIN, and WIN for me because I suck at taking my vitamins regularly. Now I don't miss my shakes and found that drinking them as my breakfast does the best for me because I am not normally hungry until noon.

Here is my favorite recipe for the shakes; it is just something that I came up with.
1/2 cup (4oz) of Skim Milk
1 banana
1 teaspoon of Virgin Coconut Oil
Ice
4 oz of water
1 scoop or bag of Shakeology
Put it all in a blender and whip!

I love this combination!

The shakes really work for me. So much so that I drop 15lbs in 29 DAYS!!! I love the shakes and the workouts so much that I decided to become a Beach body Coach! I just really hope that I can help someone else that needs to drop the weight to save or enhance their life! I started at 360lbs so I am sure you can do it!

Finally Putting up Anniversary Review and Pictures!

Hello! It has already been a dang month since I have last posted! Boooo…. Anywho, I am here to finally deliver a review and pictures from our 1st Anniversary Bed and Breakfast escape. We visited Georgia where we got married and had the privilege of staying at Glen-Ella Springs Inn & Meeting Place in Clarkesville, GA. Here is the site: http://www.glenella.com/ . We had a blast! Which is surprising since it was in the mountains and was outside and thangs. But let me tell you that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE to HIKE NOW! Who would have thought it?

We had wonderful service! Ed and Luci Kivett the owners are just wonderful. They even made homemade pancakes and helped with dinner service when we were there. Here are some of our pictures:
