The 210 Day Update!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone and a Happy Saturday!

YAY!!! It has been 210 days/7 Months since I have started this journey. January has been a pretty great month so far. I have started Turbo Fire and 30 Day Shred and I absolutely love them! I have seen such a great change in my body in just a short period of time. I will be doing both for a least 90 days. I started school this past Monday and was thrown off of my Turbo Fire Schedule. So because I really want to complete the program in its entirety as it is scheduled, I will be starting week 1 over this Monday.

This past week I had the chance to prep all my foods (Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Dinner) and I managed to lose 7 lbs. this past week! I will continue to do this. Not only does it keep my calories in check, it helps with saving money and I don't have to figure out what I am eating for the day. My Shakeology keeps my cravings to a minimal. I have also decided to do a semi-paleo eating program. I will not be eating starches or processed foods.

Things that I have learned/Progress in the last 30 Days:
1. I LOVE TURBO FIRE!! I think I have found my Cardio soul mate! LOL!
2. I am stronger than I ever knew I could be.
3. Food Prepping is AWESOME!
4. I can bounce back even from a horrible couple of weeks! I had to learn that one or 5 bad days does not have to result in continuously eating badly!

Things that I have been doing consistently to lose the weight:
•Drinking a Shakeology Shake every morning (Including flax seeds, some fruits (A Banana every morning and any other fruit that I may have), and my Green pops (Made with Cucumbers, Spinach, Kale and Celery).

•Drinking on average 16 cups of water (equivalent to 128oz)

•Working out at least 6-7 times a week (Walking, Turbo Fire, and 30 Day Shred)

•Eating what I have prepped for the week and using Myfitnesspal.com to track my calories
· Eating less of fruits and more veggies
· Eating Protein with my meals
          · Drinking a Protein shake after my workouts
•Staying within or under my 1500 daily calories (Averaging 1200 calories). I currently do not eat back my calories from working out.

•Use the general rule to only eat half of my meal when going out to restaurants to eat.
•I keep moving by parking a little farther from where I am going.

My new main numbers:
Waist: 39 inches- Down from 51 inches
Lower Stomach: 44 inches - Down from 55.34 Inches
Weight: 286.2lbs - Down from 360lbs
Shirt Size 16 or XL in some shirts- Down from Size 26-28 or 3x

I am Officially Down 73 lbs.!!! YAY!!!

I have notice big changes in my overall body in 210 days!

A New Year Brings on New Fitness Goals :-)

Two post in a DAY! I can dig it.

I really need to update y'all on my weight-loss journey. I am officially down 63 pounds!! YAY!! I am so excited about that. I have been at it for 6 months. I now have new goals and new workouts to do. I just started on Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred DVD and I am really enjoying it so far (It reminds me of Boot camp). It is only my second day so I will update you all after the first 30 days. I will be doing it 6 days a week.

I will also be doing TurboFire! I am very excited about this program. It is 90 days long and I have seen so many people get great results from it. I am leading a TurboFire Group on Facebook that starts Monday 1.7.13: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheTurboFireChallengeTGEGF/
Please join us if you have TurboFire or TurboJam.

I had a lot of people that wanted to do a challenge but didn't have TurboFire. So I started a 15 miles walking or 225 minutes working out a week Challenge Group that is open to everyone! https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheWalkChallengeGroup/
So join us if you want to have some accountability buddies and some encouragement.

Goals for Jan. 2013:
  • Complete 30 Day Shred (First Round)
  • Get through my first month of TurboFire
  • Drink my Shakeology Daily
  • Make a Green Protein Shake for after workouts

Frustration Will Make You Do Interesting Things: School Edition

Well Hello Everyone!!! I am so sorry that I have not updated my blog in a while! I would first love to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I hope that you make it positive and that you work hard to achieve your goals.

So as you can see this is another installment of "Frustration Will Make You Do Interesting Things". For people that know me, know that I have been working on my PhD in Electrical Engineering since finishing my Masters in 2008. But most of you don't know, I have been out of school for over a year :-( . I had completed all of my course work and my qualifying exam and just quit! o_O  Strange, I know. I made all kind of crazy excuses. I had just gotten married and moved 1.5 hours away from school. I attempted to find a full time job but EVERYONE kept telling me "Well we will definitely hire you once you finish your PhD". REALLY!? LOL!! I mean no one was letting up. When I told them that I wanted to give up on the dream of completing my Doctorate, they would just say that you really need to finish.

Well fast forward to this summer when I had absolutely NO plans of returning to school, I landed an awesome internship in my field and had a great mentor that said plainly, "You owe it to yourself, your husband, your family, and to everyone to finish your PhD". So after a lot of things "Falling into place", I have the opportunity to complete my degree. I am currently enrolled this semester and I am so excited! It is like I have a fresh start. I have a new advisor, new research and a new outlook on things. So you know what, Frustration will make you do some interesting things! LOL! I was so tired of not being able to find a job and look where the Lord led me back to. I am so grateful!
